Prince is an emerging mycologist and microbial ecologist actively advancing the study of fungi and slime molds in Southern Mindanao, with a strong focus on myxomyceteology, microbial diversity, and ecosystem function. His work explores understudied and unexplored terrestrial habitats in Mindanao, uncovering how microscopic life forms contribute to ecosystem processes and environmental balance. By investigating the evolutionary relationships and ecological roles of fungi and myxomycetes, he helps build foundational knowledge for microbial ecology in the region, positioning these often-overlooked organisms as key players in understanding biodiversity patterns and ecosystem dynamics in tropical landscapes.
